I think the MCSS board was bad,or fuse burned out.You can release the brake by one key turn on and press a red button on the little board.

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 09/07/17 12:49 PM

Is it normal to not have a ucm and cpu reset button on thf small board in thf door jam ?

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 09/08/17 01:41 AM

The controller is in the hoistway? WTF? What state are you in again? So what do you have to work with, just a Service Panel Board mounted in a jamb or something?

Thank god for the regulation state!

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 09/08/17 09:17 PM

That's correct dirt. U need to b on top of car with hall door closed to get to controller

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 09/08/17 10:09 PM

That is a damn shame. And I thought the MRL hydros with the controller in the jamb was a bad idea. (Those aren't legal here either). Is it at the top floor or bottom?

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 09/08/17 10:13 PM

And what is the advantage of that as opposed to turning the controller around 180 degrees and putting a closet right there? Besides the cost of a door.

I guess this way the customers don't have to look at our plumber's cracks while we work in the controller closet. If only there was a dedicated room to put the controller in...

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 09/09/17 03:56 PM

if you did a hard reset not just power off then might have to get the Otis guys with there construction run button to move car to access controller there is a known relay problem also check your gov switch on side of car might be it clipped door lock an tripped switch i know from personal experience of picking lock in flight an tripping gov on car

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 06/01/23 10:27 PM

What was your course of action and what did the problem end up being?

Re: Gen 2 mrl shutdown - 06/03/23 03:53 AM

At least your car wasn't at the top floor when that happened. So you didn't have to carry 3,000 pounds of weights up the steps to load the car so it would drift down when you released the brake to get to the controller. I agree with dirt, these should be absolutely illegal. Ridiculous design fueled by greed.

Anyhow, if in that situation you don't need Otis to come out with run buttons, under the service panel board there is terminal strips with all important terminals needed. Safety string, construction run terminals, even terminals to jump more batteries in parallel if the batteries in the controller to lift the brakes are dead.
