I live in a highrise condo with 3 elevators and an emergency generator. When the power comes back on after an outage, there is often a slight jolt which triggers the elevators to go into EER mode and stop at the nearest floor. Only the Otis technician can put them back in service, a process which can take hours if there are other buildings involved.
Otis says there is no way for our building engineer to override the system and handle this himself. Does this sound right to you? Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity level to avoid EER when there has been no earth movement? We're thinking about calling in an independent consultant to take a look, not sure whether that would be a waste of time.
Thanks for your help!
