have a 401 with cop2 board. car running erratic, load being displayed was 5800
4000 lb capacity. major roll backs. was going to check load cells, and the problem cleared, load displayed 0 with empty car. however after a day a big load was introduced and car went in pit. we are trying to set up load weighing. we set to mode 5 and start the procedure, however after it tries to calculate 0 load, we get w6 and w7 error. and then it goes back to the beginning of procedure . can't get to the next 10 and 40 percent load calibration. I'm thinking bad cop2 board. we have verified that both load cells are working. 1 of the cells would not go pass 4 mv. found the jack bolt fully engaged under cab so it could not depress we backed off and are now able to get both cells to go up with weight. question is we are not sure of where to start the load cell mv reading. if we back off both jack bolts, so they are not touching frame, we get 6mv on one cell and 8 mv on the other cell, then we can add weight and they both go up accordingly, about .75 mv per 500 lbs. any advice, there is another bolt with big rubber washers next to jack bolt, if we tighten them it compresses load cells, and we can get each cell to read equal with 0 load. is there a starting point? should we set them to a certain mv, or will the calibration procedure take into account the different readings of each cell empty car? do they have to be equal to start? can't find any info in my manuals regarding this, all i can find is that the cells have a range of 0-20mv. are the jack bolts to be set so that a full load cannot compress the cell to much? have a new board and am going to give it a go in the morning.

The only thing I know is you don't want the volts lower then 2mV.

thanks jkh , did not get your email, however got car running. replaced cop2 board and all went well. we ended up backing off of the jack bolt under cab, giving about 1/16 inch clearance. then we tightened up on the bolts with big rubber bushing, while car was empty to get each cell at about 7 mv. after that started the learn procedure, and it went like a champ. the displayed voltage was very consistent. all the way up to th 3000 lb mark.
