NTS board MiProm21 - 03/20/13 10:33 PM

Been finding a car timed out of service last 3 days when I come in. I received the port I needed today to use my computer. Pulled up the faults 39 and 38 faults. Had 68 of them. I went to adjusted my MI+ and MI- voltages on the NTS board. I set the bottom with no problem. When I did the top I had no problem until I went to set the 6.4vDC with only 2 relays up. I had no voltage on my meter. Went to my Motion excuses it says reset drive. It took a couple times running the car on inspection up and down for the drive to stay up and let me set the voltage. Would this be a bad NTS board or would it be something feeding this board that is causing this. I am waiting on prints to get mailed to me all I have is a limited manual and service tool. Or since that voltage was off would it be causing the drive to do that.

Sounds like you might have an intermittent problem on a switch or the alignment of the switch to the accuating device might be off. The speed of the car will dictate if they're magnetic or cam actuated switches.

They are mag switches. Without a print i cant be 100 percent sure but I think those switches pick and drop the ice cube relays on the NTS board. Any Im not having any issue with those ice cube relays not picking or dropping. But when I put my meter to MI+ to GAN I am suppose to have 6.4 vdc when only two relays are up but I have no voltage and I look at my motion excuses it says reset drive.

Relays on NTS should be biforcated, not normal ice cubes. Also..No voltage out out of MI+ and MI-. check to see if a 38 or 39 event occured which trips CO on the NTS board. Also..Check the terminal connections on the NTS board. Notorious.

do you have the correct voltage with one relay energized? If so that indicates the MI+ voltage is ok. The second from the bottom MFS Switch could be closing then reopening on you, they should be at least 1in away from the magnet, when they are too close they have a tendency to bounce open. the 39 is a look back error when the car leaves the terminal floor, and the 38 occurs when entering a terminal floor.

Its been 2 full days since I adjusted the voltages. I was catching the car timed out of service in the morning and around 430ish in the evening daily. I havent had one shut down yet. Its odd how those voltages being off knocked my drive out.

On another car Im having the same issue the car timing out of service daily. At the bottom the last relay isnt dropping out and at the top the 2nd relay isnt dropping out. I been tied up changing a handrail on a Fuji escalator so I haven't been able to make it back to the building to address the issue.

Yup for some reason a down escalator needs more attention then building that is under elevated. We want our maintenance done but don't take any elevators out of service.

make sure the cars are not coming into the floors to fast should be under 150fpm
