Smartrise experiences - 05/08/17 02:06 AM

Guys ,
What are peoples opinion on smartrise ? We are looking for a budget alternative to offer on mods and have heard some good stuff about them . Anyone have any input pro or con ? Ease of installation , compatibility , after sales support etc...
Thanks in advance

Well this post is not for just Smartrise but all of the majors included. All are playing the "Obsolete Game" to bill customers. Elevators used to last 50 years if maintained properly but now within very few years chips and board components are not in production anymore and the elevator companies call it obsolete and bill for upgrades and mods. Typical lifespan of an Elevator is 10 years or less anymore. Nobody stocks anything and when they can't buy it from the original manufacture again they bill customer for upgrades. Even though the part may be available somewhere else they still bill.

My experience from a service aspect has been good so far and our mod super seems to like dealing with them as well. Now granted the first one we installed was only 5 years ago.

So far we have done about 20 hydros, and a half dozen tractions which range from 100fpm to 800fpm on the tractions. The only issue I've had so far is a bad soft start on a hydro which really isn't a reflection on smart rise.

All things considered I'd certainly recommend them.

I agree rolly , I hate having to tell customers that a set of detectors I installed a couple of years ago or a drive only a year ago is now 'obsolete' . A lot of the boards on Otis stuff from as late as the 90's ( main board on LRV 4 for example ) is now return for repair as there is no stock left .

Thanks ABE . I heard good things from most people , compares favorably to the MCE or elevator control . We don't have anything above 350 f.p.m and 10 stops so sounds like it might be a good option .
