Tac 20 issue - 09/10/17 03:29 PM

Working on a Tac 20 that keeps shutting down at the top terminal floor, replaced guides, and a month ago download job data off of floppy disk made for job specifics numbers matched controller. Now getting a "normal terminal slowdown limit failure" fault and in ims it says possible cause is corrupt data (guessing from when we redownloaded that data) I checked magnets on front and back, any suggestions?

What fault #'s specifically are you getting?

Make a new net on IMS and do a new Hoistway scan.

In ims I am getting a 1055,1057,1086 fault code, and I have tried making a new net to do hoistway scan but hoistway scan never completes it just gets to top and keeps running

What do you mean it gets to the top and keeps running? It should hit the top directional limit, stop, level down to floor level and status in IMS should come off "Selector". Are you saying it hits the stop ring and keeps running in relief? The directional limit magnet is on the back left side of the tape. The magnet should be South (yellow) side out and start 5/8"-1" above the top of selector mark on the tape.

Yes it gets to top and hits stop ring but hoistway scan does not complete, changed guides, and unit runs for two or three days then always shuts down at terminal landings

Then you aren't getting a top directional limit. Look for the magnet on the back of the tape. (And it's the right side if you're looking from the front.) You have to stop in the limit to complete a scan.

Said it before, the magnets can lose juice...try putting a different magnet up there, verify you see NTST come active as you approach top floor, and you see DLT come active when elevator is above top floor.

I never really believed in bad magnets until about 2 weeks ago I was getting FLRP faults on a 211, as you ran past that floor on inspection the LED would go off and on. Replaced the magnet and it was fine.

If you put an in-adjusted job file in this car make sure you set fire service parameters, hoistway access top floor & access distance, set your slowdowns P17 & P18 per the car speeds, if you don't have an I-2/I-3 valve you will need to change that parameter too. But get the top directional limit working first and get a good hoistway scan.

Been working on you and in IMS I am getting a group fault code of 19 and 80, only codes I am getting as of now which are saying corrupt data and I/O are not matching generic database, we redownloaded data about 2 months ago with job files left on job (floppy disk) any suggestions
