Tac 50-04 USER INTERFACE TOOL - 12/16/17 06:12 PM

Hi all,

Very familiar with the product and using IMS, but wondering if anyone has taken these on maintenance as an independent with just the user interface tool? I have seen the menus and there looks to be a lot available for access, but just wondering if everything is available that you need? Can u perform a terminal backup "tbs" command for example? Is there any limitations compared to IMS besides the obvious layout?

Thanks.

While I have not ever tried to work on a TAC50-04 with only the OST, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Looking through the manual it does seem to have a lot of functionality but I think the Commands menu is a deal breaker. I don’t see a TBS but more importantly SFR or TFR and if you have to diagnose or replace a CAN node I see no CAN commands. And just in case you’re not aware, not all TAC50-04s came with an OST.

Tfr sfr rrf are all executed with any of those commands in the newer generic versions. All those along with teccr tecf tecr tecc are included in the ost. There is stu for hoistway learn, I am just wondering about a terminal backup scan. There is dcn as well as dhn.

Should not need a tbs command if job config is archived and one didn't ever have to change drive scurves.

So the terminal back up scan is on the job cofig thumb drive? I am curious about that. Not trying to play devils advocate....but if you had to use the archive(in this case the tbs command) you would need ims.

Sure. However if the running and fully adjusted job config was saved, an upload into a new cpua along with the generic would have you up and running without needing a hoistway scan or a terminal backup scan. Anyone know what the ntsd learn command is for in the 2407mc?

The backup scan is NOT saved on the job image. It’s saved on the CPUA. This is why you can’t use an XE2 CPUA on a TAC50-04, there is no DSP on the bottom left. Also, I thought that the reset commands were only combined on the 32T, could be wrong on that though.

I tried to adjust, pretest, and inspect using the UIT once. Was a small two stop, and I really wanted to understand the functions better to help my service and NI guys. Was slow, painfully slow, to diagnose and make any sort of corrections. Couldn't find my keypad for the accord drive, so I did cheat and use my computer to set up Vlink, Karb, Tarb, and verify the name plate voltage, current, rpm, etc for the synergy 85.

If I had to guess, I would say you have 90% of what IMS gives you on the UIT, but at maybe 20% of the efficiency. The testing process was decent, but like the number sequence of the TSTs, had us adding and subtracting the test weights a bunch. I have a cheat sheet that I normally use so I start empty, and work up to the 125% tests.

Anyone know if it's possible to manually add the values in the NTSD to create the backup scans values? My TSL keypad seems to be MIA, (have a new apprentice on so he has a mission now), so I can't check this myself.
