TK and Otis data connections - 01/30/18 08:58 AM

Hi all, my company works with extracting data from elevator controllers in order to allow the owners or service company to monitor eg the power consumption, alarms and such, displaying it in a cloud based interface. We generally do this by connecting the dataport, eg. rs232 on the controller or by adding an extension card allowing for eg Modbus or Bacnet connection.

We've recently been asked to connect to the two following controllers and find it hard to get good documentation of the options. Do any of you have experience with these you can share?

OTIS MCS310
ThyssenKrupp E.COR MHC

Hope someone can help - thanks!

Sorry I cannot help you, but since you are here I have a few questions for you. Is it your company installing the devices and monitoring the data? Have you had any issues with elevator companies and voided warranties? Is it capable of sending as well as receiving?

I ask these questions purely out of curiousity, as some companies already have these devices, and we in the field are being told its one way communication(which we know to be false, they can receive). I heard a few companies already got their hands slapped because they were remotely resetting the controllers.

Thanks for any information you can add as a third party monitoring service.
