Tac 32t - 05/05/18 03:15 AM

Hey guys back again. Tuning up the next car and im having an issue with io’s flickering. Only the ha monitor io’s are flickering on port 12. I ordered a can repeater but theres another car here that doesn't have a repeater with no issues. All hns are online. No faults. 60hms on hcl hch. Prints call for a repeater but none on site. Also, theres no hoistway access for the bottom since its a walk in pit so i jumped a breakout board on the bottom hnb since theres ios for it. Tried a regular hn on the bottom but would not teach . Any info is much appreciated

There should not be an external repeater on a TAC32T, the FWIA has a repeater in it, probably what you are seeing on the print. There’s no reason what you did with the bottom access shouldn’t work. Since there is a repeater on the FWIA, you need to have 60 ohms on both sides of the repeater so I’m sure you do on the hoistway side but make sure you also do on the CPU side. A simplex should have all termination jumpers on the CPUA on and JP3 on the FWIA on. On a duplex, both controllers should have the termination jumpers on the CPUA on and JP3 on the FWIA off. 3 and 4 Car groups get the HC and RC jumpers on the CPUA removes on the intermediate cars and JP3 off. Make sure any CNA on that channel in the MR has its termination resistors removed. You can read resistance with power off on the 50 pin CPUA plug, HCH to HCL pins 31 to 32.

I have seen a job with walk in pits and no hw access at bottom landing. Still used hnb with break out board for unused switch. They just permanently jumped back making contacts permanently on break out boards.

FWIA does have built in repeater, and has to have firmware V4R1 to work reliably. If VER command show V0 firmware on FWIA, then you can warranty this board. Make sure you check with cars in group isolated from each other. VER command on car 2 may show firmware for FWIA from car 1, I had this happen.
Car Generic should be at minimum V4R2F, or V5R0P if emax enabled. I have seen issues like this with older software, but have these have been fixed in last couple of years. It sounds like you are adjusting so I would be surprised if you have older software, but sometimes job materials sit around awhile because of construction delays.
