Kone KCM831 our favorite! - 06/05/18 07:39 PM

I currently have a KCM831 giving us some problems. We arrived on site and found 2 lon boards on top of the controller. We put them back and they appeared fine. We did a LON setup and nothing. So we bought 2 new boards, relearned the shaft as we swapped one board at a time with the new one. Still no communication. Car cant run on inspection and we now find new faults 0177-78 0181,0182,0187,88,89 Brake board have voltage going into it but not picking up. Brake switch contacts are good. Does the processor send the signal with the run command? What might cause this to occur ? Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated thanks!

Faults 177,178 is the Adon board seeing the Govrernor switch open. 181, 182 is power loss. 187,188, 189, is the rope gripper failed to pick. I would say your Gov switch is open or the Adon is not seeing it for some reason. You also have to pull the mainline after doing a Lon Download and also when you do an Adon Learn.

Thanks Gov switch was good, but now that you say it I am not 100% sure we killed the line after ADON Learn.... I will redo in the morning. Leaning towards ADON shot. Thanks again-

Also check the parameters in 5-9,5-10,5-21,and look at the 5-20 stuff should have numbers in all. Does the acum reset when pushing the yellow button

Thanks, ACUM reset does nothing. And ADON Learn did nothing as well....
I am trying to see if I have 1 or 2 big problems... I still don't have my shaft way Communication light on and getting the faults to reflect that ie: no communication to 1 2 3 lon board etc. But every board was checked. resistors checked and my resistance on xc12/1 and xc12/2 is 120-121 ohms. Also performed the Lon learn several times with no changes. On top of that issue I still have my ADON problem faults... 1 wouldn't effect the other really right? 1 is shaft communication from CPU the other ADON not getting signals from CPU.... Since they seem to be 2 definite problems what is the chance the common component ie: the cpu is the problem? Any thoughts are appreciated. Also the parameters are still correct ie 5-9 -5-10 etc.

Thanks-

The shaft communication should come up when the car has taken a learn trip. If you scroll to try and put a car call in im going to assume it shows alot more landings than it actually serves. At this point you dont run at all even on inspection? ADON learn faults would usually be a 207 fault im pretty sure, so it doesnt sound like an ADON learn is needed yet.

You also say you showed up to boards lying around. Was the mailine out for a while? Its possible critical CPU parameters...controller type...drive type..etc defaulted

Thanks for the reply. We haven't done a learn trip yet because the car still doesn't run. (On Inspection or anything). It doesn't run most likely going back to the ADON safe faults etc. When you go through al the parameters it appears everything is correct floors, car type etc. We replaced the battery as a precaution and think it was only shut down for a day or 2. But I will re verify this again in full detail in the morning. Thanks again-

Here are all current faults as of yesterday:
0021,0178,0177,0190,0189,0188,0187,0181,0182,0098,1701,2416,1411,2410,1411,2410,1410,1410,2409,1409,2408,1408,2407,1407,2406,1406,- 1401-2401.

The governor switch fault and 98 is another ADON relay fault. Has the ADON been changed? Its a quick change. This car has front and rear? Also check your XM13s through the controller...the 1701 is not seeing OPT board in controller.

Re: Kone KCM831 our favorite! - 06/07/18 02:18 AM

The ADON has been changed to ver 2.... If I was just having ADON issues I would upgrade to Ver3 but keep leaning back to cpu because of the multiple issues. Thanks again.

Lets backup a bit,r u getting safety input when trying to run,is car network on?u check continuity on xm13?and what boards were taken out?simplex car or group?

Re: Kone KCM831 our favorite! - 06/07/18 03:09 AM

yes we get safe when we go to run on ins or auto. car network is on and continuity is good on xm13. Only boards taken where 2nd floor lon board. (which was replaced with good board and original no difference. Thanks

Try clearing the faults. E-2-1. Leave the car on insp. Try to run on insp. What faults come up at that time. Are you getting the Ebrake cmd on the Adon?

sorry we tried that a few times and the faults never clear. Thanks-

Re: Kone KCM831 our favorite! - 06/07/18 06:35 PM

Sounds like your CPU defaulted. I had a similar issue a few months ago. Do you have the parameter sheets for the controller? Do you have a load weighing board in the controller? What is menu 5 sub menu 1? That will show you load in the car, that will also cause problems if the reading is out of range. Try adjusting the load weigher and see if you can get the car to move so you can perform a hoistway setup. If you still can't get it to run check menu 1 sub menu 95? Try changing that and see if you can get the car to run. There's a lot of steps to get it back to normal operation if you have lost all parameters.

Re: Kone KCM831 our favorite! - 06/08/18 01:01 AM

It does. Some of the important ones are. Not sure if I missed any
1-3
1-23 / 24
1-86 Earthquake
1-95 Drive Type
Menu 5-4 Roll call direction also needs to be correct

Re: Kone KCM831 our favorite! - 06/08/18 10:31 PM

Ok, I will recheck all of those parameters. If I remember all the parameters we did check where correct. So that's what was leading us back to a bad CPU board. Where going to order a new one and start all over again to see if we get anywhere. Thanks again -

If u replace the cpu make a detailed list of all parameters
