DMC. Phase 2 - 08/21/18 07:46 PM

Hello guys. I got a Dover DMC .. my service tool tells me it’s in phase 2. But it is not in fire service. Any ideas of how this can happen ?

Have you checked the status of CLC variables CFS1 & CFS2? CLC - Variable - 008 - CFS2 is bit 3, Phase 2 off, should be high. CFS1 is bit 4, Phase 2 on, should be low. Should probably check Phase 1 inputs too, HFS2 should be on, HFS1, FSM, & FSX should be low. Those are in Variable 10 bits 7, 8, 4, 3 respectively.

Tell us more.
The FAST says it’s on phase 2
What is the condition of the unit itself?
Doors open? Closed?

On the doors closed scenario, let’s say the building has a fire alarm company check smoke detectors. They check the elevator lobby detectors too. They think they need to check the car operation on phase 1&2. But what they don’t know is on PH2 the car door has to hit DOL and stop motion before releasing the DO button. If they release the button too early even with PH2 keyswitched to “off”, and step out while the door is forced closed, they’re screwed. As they turn the main recall keyswitch to “off or bypass” to reset the “system”, they either notice or don’t the unit is OOS (still on PH2), and they leave. Now you have to get into the cab and reset the sequence...properly. In my career I’ve seen this many a time.
This may or may not be your situation, but the description you give is another probability.

CFS2 is blue and CFS1 is red
HFS2 is red
HFS1 is blue
FSM is blue
FSX is red

CLC errors are 052-004 and 052-003
CLC status is CLF
Selector status says system not responding

There is no selector board. Just magnets and vanes.

Re: DMC. Phase 2 - 08/23/18 12:40 PM

After power reset it will run up with clc status on SCA. But as soon as it moves a car position goes to 3 and CLF comes in. It’s only a 2 stop If you power reset on 2 nd floor it comes back online with car at position 2. But when goes back to lobby CLF comes in. But car position reads 1 which is correct

Re: DMC. Phase 2 - 08/23/18 01:08 PM

Ok. Adj 002 is the problem. It changes to 3 after I save it as 2 for a two stop.

Not immediately. But we will get called back for shutdown and adjustment 002 has changed to 3. My clc battery is brand new

Assuming red is high and blue is low, you have a recall device active and the Phase 2 switch is in the on position

Move car to main landing turn phase 1 on.open doors then power up, turn phase 2 to on then off after door is fully open at main landing. Then turn phase 1 off.
That should remove phase 2.
