1974 Montgomery hydro - 08/28/18 12:53 PM

Crew was in doing annual testing and performed a low oil test. The test was successful but now elevator will not run up or down on automatic or inspection. When on automatic I can place a car call and y delta pull in properly and the pump turns on but not getting the coils to pick up on the maxton valve. Coils have been checked for resistance and are good. On inspection the pump dose not turn on at all. No prints on site and not sure where to go from here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is this relay logic, or Miprom?

Relay logic. Also would like to know what the to set the UST and TS timers too?

If this is a relay logic, do you have a BOR relay? It is energized on start up to bypass oil. If the TA Timer is bad or a contact on BOR is bad it will bypass. Not running on inspect, you probably have a bad INS relay, or contact.

I don’t have a BOR relay on this controller. I went ahead and ordered new timers as these look original and see what happens from there.

UST is the up stop timer. It runs the pump momentarily after you stop leveling. Set for 1-2 seconds. The TA is the WYE/DELTA transfer timer, so 2 or 3 seconds or so.

TS is the up and down stop timer, it works with the door open and close times.

If you give some more info I’ll see if I have a close print. Passenger or freight? How many stops? Selective/collective? Does it say SPM on the controller?

Gentlemen, first off thank you for your quick response to my issue. We replaced all four timers to be sure that they were functioning properly and still had no luck. We then found out that the overload was changed out by a mechanic one night just before the crew were sent in to do the annual testing and the wires that go to the one normally open and the one normally closed were switched around. Once they were put on the proper contacts we were up and running again!
Once again thank you kindly!

I have to ask this question. How was a safety test successful if the elevator didn't run?

They pulled the coil wire off the up fast coil then placed a top floor call. Y delta pulled in pump would run then PT timer would time out doors would open and close like they should. The thing is pump was just bypassing and it never even left the bottom floor.

This is why we need witness testing by inspector.

Sad to say your right. Although bypassing sounds a lot like the relief, it is not the same. You have to ask if a gauge was in the system to show static then relief. My guess is Not.
