Re: TAC20 - 09/03/18 03:04 AM

You need IMS and a PCC-10 Lon card or SLTA (Serial Lon talk adapter) and Initialize the LON.

Re: TAC20 - 09/03/18 01:53 PM

Thanks Rolly,I have the cable but do you where to get the card from? I searched and is only one website offers selling it ,I was hoping that one of local electronics stores sell them to save time

The cards are rare...Get one if you can.

Re: TAC20 - 09/03/18 05:23 PM

There is a USB LON-Talk adapter, I’d get that one so you’re not tied to an ancient laptop. Nothing against ancient laptops, mine still works fine, but I’ll be ready when they finally upgrade.

Re: TAC20 - 09/03/18 09:17 PM

Indirtwetrust. You have to have IMS version that USB adapters work on or he will still need the PCC-10 or SLTA.

Re: TAC20 - 09/04/18 05:45 PM

(Hmmm...some trouble posting, so I’ll try again)

IF by chance your TAC20 uses that stupid pc strip for COP buttons, the ribbon cable connector at the top of the board will often unplug itself enough to loose connectivity. I’ve experienced this on two units over the years. I zip tied each one I had on service.

Re: TAC20 - 09/05/18 12:14 AM

I don’t think the IMS version should matter, there is an adjustment in settings for USB. I got a hold of one, download the driver of the internet, changed the 1 adjustment in settings and it worked. You still need the cable for the Mini-DIN plugs to talk to the host.

Re: TAC20 - 09/07/18 09:02 PM

I got hold of one of PCC-10 card but as soon as I open advanced lon computer freezes up and not responding

Re: TAC20 - 09/07/18 09:04 PM

I never tried the usb adapter or the cable that will need to go with it, do you have picture of the adapter since online search is giving different types

Re: TAC20 - 09/07/18 11:45 PM

It’s the TP/FT-10. The cable is the same one you use with the PCC-10 card. You just need a little adapter cable that goes from the funky 2 pin plug on the adapter to the 3 pin plug on the old cable assembly. I think it should come with it.

Re: TAC20 - 09/08/18 12:26 AM

Thanks ,do you know by any chance where to get NXE files? Also the msg I am getting when I go to LON Explorer and highlight main Cop is "waiting for node to respond",is not the LN card is not the LN24 is not CWID board , I went through the connections ,I am very close to call the 188E board

Re: TAC20 - 09/08/18 01:44 AM

What does it say if you put the old LN card back in?
Posted By: Indirtwetrust

Re: TAC20 - 09/08/18 01:50 AM

You won’t see the new LN in LON explorer until you delete the old one, add the new, find & bind with Advanced LON manager. You should be able to get the file by selecting the channel B in explorer and downloading, it will put the file in the job folder in IMS folder.

Re: TAC20 - 09/08/18 02:08 AM

I found an exact job that works with no issues and took the suspected LN board and install and it worked perfectly that is why I know it is not the LN board ,so I install it back in unit that cop is not responsive that is why I didn't need to go through LN replacing procedure

Re: TAC20 - 09/08/18 04:11 PM

I should say that I am far from an expert on LON and don’t work on it very often. But that goes contrary to the way I think of LON working. While you can find a job with an identical cfg file, the nodes have unique addresses, that’s why you have to use the Replace Node, Delete Node, Add Node, Find Node, Functions in Advanced LON Manager. But if that LN worked in another car, and maybe someone else with a better understanding can explain how, I guess you can assume that it’s OK. You probably are going to have to replace the 188e but first you need to rule out the cable. Read LCH1 & LCH2 to ground or the shield, looking for Mohms, unplug the LN and make sure you can read the 188E’s termination resistance from LCH1 to LCH2.

At this point, if the cable checks out, you have to get Advanced LON manager working!

Re: TAC20 - 09/08/18 04:39 PM

I was surprised as well to find a job that has an exact LON configuration file and it did work with no problem ,it is very rare!
I will definitely recheck cables again and probably connect LN board directly to 188E bypassing CWID ,travel cable and channel interface board in controller and see if LON starts responding .
I searched about the LONTALK board and apparently there were setting that I needed to change to make it work ,I am going back on Monday to try it again.

Re: TAC20 - 09/10/18 08:47 PM

Under channel A or B how do you add Host in LON Explorer? When I search for nodes under advanced LON manager I see the LN but not the host
Posted By: Indirtwetrust

Re: TAC20 - 09/11/18 01:43 AM

In Advanced LON Manager, select the correct channel, click Add Node, press the service pin for that channel on 188E.

Re: TAC20 - 09/11/18 03:30 AM

Channel A is car side, channel B is hoistway. Host is on the 188e card I believe. Been a super long time, but it was find and bind for nodes, and adding hosts was at the card in machine room.

Re: TAC20 - 09/11/18 04:25 AM

Thanks guys I will try that, this has been a nightmare except it doesn't go away when I wake up since I never dealt with LON issues before

Re: TAC20 - 09/11/18 11:48 PM

You have to press serv pin in Machine room too...

Re: TAC20 - 09/18/18 03:14 AM

I ordered new 188e board which is 6300ky14 and apparently it is compatible with all 188e board as long as I can upload v4r5d software which I don't have ,does anyone have this software?

Re: TAC20 - 09/18/18 08:31 PM

I made a post on how to set up a lon helping someone out about a year or two ago.. See if you can find it.

Re: TAC20 - 09/18/18 09:44 PM

Channel A was not responsive and ended up being the 188e board and when I ordered a new board they sent me 6300ky14 which requires newer software version v4r5d,I was able to set up LON on new board no problem just the existing software version doesn't support this new board.
Do you have ._080000.dat file version v4r5d?
