Swift futura

I’m a problem with a futura shutting down within a few hours of resetting. I’m on the program and under the INIT I’m not reading my VFC ft/s in the correct direction up or down as well as not reading the ft/s constantly. I’m getting faults 112,100,97,96,99. I swapped encoders and spu link board and no change. I disabled the dpp sensors and no change as well as swapping the little dpp board on the vfc board with no luck. Anyone have any ideas on what could cause this? Or if anyone knows where the futura program retrieves the drive data from? Thank you

Doesn’t seem like this problem is shutting down my car. I was able to catch it trip out on a drive fault and seem like the lock is being tipped or gate lock is opened mid flight. But I would still like some feedback on why it will not read the VFC ft/s and in the correct direction

If you’ve witnessed the gate and lock fault tripping the car up, clear that issue up and then watch. There are a number of faults generated at a shutdown that have to do with the initial fault, then recovery, but not necessarily back to automatic. Door lock opened in flight is error 43, but you’ll also flag an 18, 58 and 94 (typically anyway).

Be sure the tape guides are in good shape. (Also in the manual there is a specific voltage value to read at DPP+ and - if I remember correctly).

Those DPP sensors ride pretty close to the face of the perforated tape, so take a peek at those.
You can also bump up your inspection speed, and while on cartop inspection, open the selector box and move the box and tape around while watching the two green LED’s for proper toggling on and off.

Do you have the RVU box where you can set the fault trap and review it later? It’s a tremendous help.

Yes I have a laptop and rvu on the job. I trapped the faults I got rid of 43 but it’s still reading as if the car is moving when it’s floor level. I changed tap guides checked the voltage on dpp and all is good. I was able to rule out door locks and the gate switch completely with another mechanic. The faults I’m getting now when drive fault pops up is 94,58, than 71

Talked to another guy who had this issue. He says it’s the dpp sensors sending feedback. I’m going back tomorrow to change the sensors and will post how I made out for anyone else with this issue

Sounds like you’re narrowing it down.
If the car is at rest (DZ), but the DPP1&2 are toggling on the VFC window on the RVU (which it sounds like your description), maybe; 1) the shielded cable (grounded on controller side only) is picking up a voltage induction, or 2) maybe the ground wire has broken from its terminal. I suppose a flakey inductor could be turning off and on in its failing state, but you’d be able to see that watching the cartop box DPP LED’s to prove it. Hmmm...good one.
I’m sure you know, but that cable should not be anywhere near cab lighting circuits or any high voltage wiring runs.

One sensor is for speed the other for position. I dont recall which does each function. Did you check the 5V power supply from the SPU? Test points can be found on the link. Anything below 5V can cause odd problems.

I changed my DPP2 sensor and I am now reading my velocity and direction correctly on the INIT block of the wizard and rvu which is a great sign. Gonna continue to run it and see if it shuts down but the DPP2 sensor fixed my 112 fault.

Elevator has been running for the past 2 hours with no drive faults or shut downs. After changing the DPP2 sensor and adjusting the DP2 magnet inside the leveling my car was back up and running. I appreciate all the help.
