US Ascension 2000 ? - 10/27/11 09:13 PM

Hello All,

I have on service a 3stop (2f, 1R) us ascension 2000 that needs to be reset about once a month due to relevel fault count. I heard somewhere that US (T.K.E.) had available a software chip that omitted this nusance which basically amounts to a run counter so you have to place a service call. Our supplier claims that this chip is no longer available. I do have a service tool for the unit. Anyone got any chips or know how to remedy this??? Thanks!

Is the packing leaking? Valve check valve leaking? Losing oil? How much time passes between re-levels, with car at top? (higher static pressure, with no piston buoyancy)

Sorry, gotta ask!

I don't have any chip help for you. But I did see another service company, that was having a similar problem, and they put on a recycle timer, that reset the processor every night at like 3 am!

I believe if you contact Vertech, they will sell you a maintenance free chip, but I believe the owner of the elevator has to make the purchase. I think thats the name of the company, we were looking into it a while back, there were some prior threads earlier this year where some people had a copy to share .

Yes, Davidson, I think your on the right track with the maintenance free chip deal. The car never relevels that I am aware of nor does the packing, jack, or oil line leak.

there is a chip that takes the maintenence feature out of a2k jobs. you have to supply the contract number when ordereing and they are about 1000.00 for the set of chips.

Did you ever get this resolved? I know TKE wont supply the chips anymore because I also have a 2000 and when I requested the chips they told me they cant because of some lawsuit???? Anyways I was able to get a hold of a reset code that will extend the time to almost 2 months, send me a pm if you need it.

If you’re able to reset on of these (actually clear the counters C&D), it’s the same process for resetting each time. You’ll find with these particular models they’ll fault on a “time out” regardless of number of days since last reset. IIRC, time out was based on number of runs but that never seemed to be the case for me. Designed to force you to reset the counters (do your PM) before it hits that elusive magic number.

As sad as it is it should almost be mandatory on all elevators to force someone to show up to do PM. The MCP requirements are great and all but no one in this area does maintenance. None of the big 4, or us. Bosses only worry about who's lighting a fire under their butt currently
