3300 is widely used in Europe and is regarded as cheap junk by many.
More trouble than they are worth in my opinion.

I think most important point is brake. test, gap.

Are there any diagnostic tools needed for maintaining or are the on board diagnostics good enough?

at 5 years or 1,000,000 trips the suspension traction media (black belts) must be replaced. you get a code with the new belts to enter into the controller to reset the trip counter. its not like the gen2 where you can fool the pulse unit that checks the belts. any problems with the brakes and you toss them and buy new. sure you can set the gap. but ive seen where they just wont stop and a new brake is the only solution. its the same old game with the big 4. sure its non proprietary. but if you have to buy parts, it takes a long time to make your money back for what you charge on a full maintenance agreement. i just bought a new qks16vvvf operator for a 330 and it was 4500 bucks. ouch.
