F5 drive replacement on MCE IMC controller - 03/13/19 09:10 PM

Replaced a drive on an IMC controller from and F4 to an F5. Getting a comm fault on the drive interface board. Tripple checked all params, wiring, etc. MCE has not gotten back since I sent them all the info with pics...think they are stuck..lol.

This seems to happen after loading the configuration from the controller on the drive (right before autotuning). Beating my head against the wall for two days. Pretty much eliminated all wiring, contact, relay issues. Wondering if there is a specific order in which to set up that I may have missed a step or a parameter that is not allowing the control box to communicate with the controller. (LF3 is on run at the moment) US3 and 4 both say PASS. No faults in the drive. Thinking the loading of the configuration may have corrupted something in the interface board/s???????

Try changing the motor type in LF4 to something else like PCLSd, then go to US10 and load that configuration, then put the correct motor type back, go back to US10 and load configuration. Then enter all your parameters back in. KEB calls it a 10-10 Default.

Wait, I read it again, where are you getting the comm fault and what exactly does it say? The IMC controller doesn’t communicate with the F5 drive.

Do you have a checksum error of some kind on the DDP? (Top LEDs on the swing panel) The most common problem I have when doing the F4 to F5 upgrade on these controllers is the U15 chip on the DDP fails as soon as you change a parameter through the CRT.

I’m confused on this discription as well. There is no com from drive to imc. Try factory defaulting drive and then loading from scratch. I have had issues several times in the past like this and only fix was to default drive, not only on replacements but I have also seen this on new start ups.
