tac20 1091 fault - 03/21/19 03:04 AM

friend has a tac20 with a 1091 fault. car runs fine on independent, 2 stop car no hall calls no fire service, advanced Lon manager shows channel A host and LN , nothing shows up under channel B. any ideas would be helpful. he has new LN cards, and lonconfig file, but maybe there is some little thing that he could be missing. 1091 fault indicates LN card not operating properly, ie not receiving data.

He replaced the ln card, and uploaded lonconfig file. under channel B in advanced lon mgr there is no Host_B only LN named Duct_A01,with the lightbulb lit yellowTried to add node but comes up with message duplicate Ln. select continue anyway. Says bind channel. Press bind channel and get binding error. Must have exactly one host per channel. Install new cpu, upload files, and still same problem. Cannot get Any Host_B node. Anyway put all original boards back in,and left car running once again on independant. Its a medical bldg. at least they can still get up and down 😄

Check the wiring between Con22 and the HCID. Comes in Con98. Maybe try plugging cable directly into Con22 and see if you can see the Host.

Have done that as well. Thanks dirt. Took the new cpu and plugged into little simulator at home, simulator has 2 good LN boards. Fired it up and the exact same thing happens on simulator. Plugged directly into con22. Baffled now.

Have you tried find node, add node, replace node? And Host B never shows up? But Host A does?

under channel B, only the LN node, duct a01 shows, I tried to find node and it just says duplicate found, delete old node something like that select continue and it finds the same node, then says bind channel, spits out a couple errors, and same thing, I try the add node, and replace node, and it will only find the duplicate ln, give error, and same thing. so I saw something about building a Lon tree from scratch, so I delete all nodes under a and b channel. then I select find node, it finds LN, I give it the friendly name, select it, select add node, and Host A shows up, add friendly name, and bind. then do the same thing on B channel, and everything comes to life, now Im thinking just have to do same thing at job, and should be fine. try the same thing at job, and it will not add the host B, change LN card again, same thing build tree from scratch and will not add the host B. turns out the problem is the old cpu. put new cpu in, and have to build tree from scratch again, download lonconfig, and everything in LON is working fine. download the job eprom file, and think it is licked.
cpu boots up, all looks fine, take off inspect, and now it won't close the door, getting door communication error. can't figure that out, so put old cpu back in, and get it running on independent again. the only thing I can think of is that maybe its a board software problem, old board is V3R0, and" new used" board from parts shelf is V4R3 I believe. does the cpu have to be ordered from vertical express with job specific software? gonna try and order another cpu from vertical express,

That version shouldn’t be a problem. You don’t need to order a 188E with software but if you buy a new one, you’re going to get a KY14 and it needs at least, I think, V4R5D. So if you don’t have it make sure they give you the latest, V4R5P is what I have. What part # 188E old and new do you have? I can’t think of anything that would cause your door comm problem but a bad 188E if the old one works and you’re using the same Job file in both.

Cpu was the problem. Install new cpu everything good to go.
