Tac 50 - 12/09/19 11:59 PM

Looking for a tac 50 manual. I have t4, tac20, tac 32. But no Tac50. Happy to trade or help others. I have a IMS 50 on the lap top but I don’t know how to reprogram the door board. No limit led’s and the board won’t open or close the doors from the open/close buttons on the door board. I’m making the assumptions it’s the door board. Tried to plug the IMS laptop in and the battery was dead and so,was the charger. A lovely way to start the day. Had a nice big power bump this morning.. loving life. Thx!

You talk to the door board with a FAST tool or equivalent as if it were a DMC. The interface between the controller and door board is all discrete.

Thank you. Are you saying an actual DMC fast tool works with this? Or is there a different tool with the same name. I have an original Dover fast tool. I also have the IMS software and laptop fr the tac 50 but I’m less familiar with it. I have a tac50 manual with a self study guide but it has little to nothing about the IMS software or its operation. I have found a list of door parameters that will be helpful. I have 35 years in but this ones new to me. JOY!

Thanks. IMs talking to controls except not the door board. Still waiting for a new door board to show up. DCL not changing state in the door I/O’s. But it does change state on the universal door board. Mostly door related errors. Car won’t run on auto but will on insp. Floor counts stored correctly by the encoder counts while running on insp are in the millions as the car runs up. At about the 3rd floor the count goes from 15million back to zero. I’m assuming it may need a new hoistway scan but I’m trying to figure out if it really need it or if there’s a way to force the system to accept the stored scan. Luckily we wrote down the floor counts for a reference some time back. I’m waiting to fix the door issues before proceeding. Best to see what clears up once the door boards been replaced. Thanks for, your response.

You know I think one of those stupid switches on the door that open when you remove the cover cuts out common to DCL & DOL. Do you have a watchdog LED on the board? There are quite a few pick fuses on that board. Did you say if it runs from the manual buttons? And you’re saying you can’t talk to the door board directly with a FAST tool? Because the controller does not have any comm with the door. You are probably not going to get the same board for a replacement. There’s a whole upgrade kit with a new motor, a wiring change and an ABN board with UIT. There actually aren’t many of the old GE boards left.
FCP command will tell you if your floor table is still there. I honestly don’t remember what the position count does while running the car on inspection though.

Careful swapping the board. They’re shipping these out with test software on them.
