Otis Gen 2 Belts - 04/28/20 11:13 PM

I am trying to change a set of belts on a Gen 2. The belts have been physically replaced and need to be relearned by the pulse unit. When I look at the data, I see that belts 1 and 2 have chords that are “out of tolerance. Chords 1-10 are 8 ohms. Chords 11 and 12 are 999.999. Belts 3-5 are all the same ohms which appears to be 8. I have nothing that tells me what the procedure to learn these are. Any advice? Thanks for all the help. I know of another unit that has been jumped out that I need to make right as well. If it’s installed it has to function or public safety is compromised!

Try removing and re-installing the pulse jumper bars and reader unit (each end of the belt). Ensure good condition of sharp points inside shorting blocks and that there is good penetrating contact to the actual cable/wire inside the belt. Also, check your belt cuts, they must be clean, with no stray wires from the cables making contact to a neighboring cable or grounding out to structure. DO NOT JUMP OUT!!! Major safety concerns. Good Luck!
