Gen 2 shutdown

Gen 2 machine shuts down a few times a day.
Mcss codes
G013
LWSS COMM FAULT
G017
DBSS COMM FAULT
G019
DIRECT LIMIT FAULT
G020
RTR/break fault
G021 drive fault
G024
Motion logic fault

OCSS CODES
SPB ENC/ battery fault

Do you guys think the battery fault is the problem ? Are these the big set of batteries under controller in shaftway ?

My limited experience on these units say, if the batteries in the controller are near three years or older, they could be your problem. Check for the shelf date on the ones in place now. I only know of units that had multiple batteries in the controller bottom (MRL), none in the shaft itself.

I ordered them from Unitec. They arrive Monday. I will report back results. They are 12v 7ah. 4 of them

Had same problem, was the batteries at bottom of controller

The 4 12v 7ah batteries was replaced and solved the problem. There is another 12v 5ah battery above those also. What is that for ?

The 4 12V batteries would be for the rescue operation. The single 12V battery is for the position loss recovery circuitry.
