Miprom 21 45 fault - 09/01/21 02:07 PM

I have a miprom 21 with drive conversion done so using the magnetek 412 drive. I am getting a 45 fault on computer. changed out both motor and car encoders still have issue checked parameter 10 on drive its set right. checked all connections for loose or broken wires found nothing check shielded wires from drive to encoder no issues. If I change Bt and B- i get control of car but run revered direction. and help would be great thank you.

look at the M Switch and associated contacts.

check the M contactor and aux contacts all working right.

on an original DC Drive this error was caused by the CPU telling the Drive everything is ok to run. The brake opens and the M switch pulls in, then if it is an up call there would be no voltage to the motor brushes. The car would drift up due to the counterweights and throw a 45 error. If it was answering a down demand it would throw a comparator trip fault. If you can get control of the car by changing the B+ and B-, then try reversing the Armature A1 and A2 wires to the motor at the same time.

Which motion region is this occurring?
Which direction? Same every time?
Can you see if the ropes slip coming into a mid upper floor?
Agreed- if that clumsy OEM Allen Bradley “M” contactor is being used, get all new aux contacts.
Car top encoder? Check that the wheel bearings are good with no wiggle on the axle and spring pressure onto the rail is sufficient.

Its in region 1 as soon as it starts it takes off over speeds and stops. new car top encoder and new motor encoder already installed. also has KONE drive mod with magnetek 412 drive so not using old Allen Bradley starter and just to make sure it wasn't aux contacts I install an ice cube relay for those contacts to bypass them for checking purpose. On inspection it runs up direction only. It doesn't have any control from an encoder. checked wiring to both encoders all is good there. installed 2 new encoders on the motor, traced encoder boards to make sure of no burnt traces. computer shows no VC feedback. also changed MSU board.

Check that the parameter jog adjust is at 100% in the CPU and the drive. Did you try reversing the A! and A2 wires, when you swapped B+ and B-?

Might want to swap out the backpane. I had issues with a Miprom 21 and I tried swapping all sort of boards. Finally one day I started pressing on boards, especially the MSU and the problem went away. Bad connection on the backpane was the culprit. It wasn't your exact fault though.

Sounds like your encoder is out of phase
