Door Lock Monitor Modification - 05/22/22 09:36 PM

Any suggestions for which vendor to use for the Door Lock Monitor Upgrades?

Any Tk guys know if the T-4's have door lock monitoring? We have a few that were early 2000, but do not know if they have it. We can test it out if needed.

I don’t have any direct experience with this door lock monitoring but I know there is a new version of TAC50 software for door lock monitoring. And it definitely should work on a T4. I think it’s HE17.

Did any of the DMC's come with door lock monitoring? We have a few that were manufactured in 2001 the code on the controller states CSA B44.1/ASME A17.5 but no year after the code.

I know we can test them out, but now I am confused on how to read the label for the code it was manufactured to.

We are going to try the door lock monitor by claddaghelectronics first. Any input on them would be appreciated.

We have not found the first DMC with door lock monitoring.

Tac20-03...The front page of the print clearly shows on sheet 7 that it has Door monitoring circuit. When we jump out a hoistway door, the car keeps running but does give us a fault of 1005. Again any input from the TK guys or some one that has already ran across this issue would be greatly appreciated.

My suggestion would be the Electrodyn one. This is because their product includes a DOL/DCL magnetic switch kit. The reason I recommend this is because many of the Miami Elevator door operators of the "Thyssen Miami Elevator" era (before they dropped the Miami and Dover brandings all together and then bought Krupp), used serial door operators with no discrete option (i.e. HD-98). With this type of operator, most DLM systems on the market need DDOL/DCL in order to function. The operator doesn't need to modified. The reeds and magnets are installed using a mounting kit to track and door part of the system.

In the event you feel you need to replace the operator, my best suggestion would be to use a Wittur SGV or AMD (KONE Renova, TKE Ld-16 are all related). They make a kit to interface existing Miami Elevator/early TKE hall door equipment to the operator. It also comes with discrete wiring, allowing you to choose more freely which DLM you would like to use.

never had any luck with setting up the DLM on a TKE mostly becasue NYC is slightly different when it comes to the fire service phase 2 VS. National Code. For this reason we gave up on trying to activate it and installed an external DLM unit. Alot of people like Argus units and I have seend then work with TKE and Dover DMC. We went with a mix of ESI and Claddagh becasue we have a great relationship with both companies. God for bid you need Tech Support its not like MCE and Smartrise where you will wait hours for a call back.

I had installed different Door lock Monitoring system to tac-20’s so far Claddagh has worked pretty well. They sell you the DLM Box with the sensors for DCL and DOL, they worked beautiful.

The latest Savaria Orion residential units come with a door lock monitor board in the top left of the controller.
It is a simple board that works with magnetic sensors at each landing. Along with the door lock contacts.
I could see this easily configured to an older commercial controller. I will get more info on that board ..

Take a look at the Elevator Systems (ESI) door lock monitoring product. This unit works well on the Tac-20 controllers.

Don't forget about Argus. It's smaller and more compact in size. https://www.vantageelevation.com/solutions/argus-elevator-door-lock-monitor/
