Schindler MRL 3300 - 08/11/22 07:04 PM

Ran the car down on access then back up. Stopped 5" short and faulted out with a 2138 fault. Looking for some help on this. Thank you

Look at the floor switches, are all of them on the vane? Did you inadvertently tear one off? Did a cable get snagged on something?

Re: Schindler MRL 3300 - 08/12/22 03:56 PM

Is there a special reset procedure for these?

When you let go of the switch too early in either direction they will often get an unintended movement fault. They are known to do this. I don't have the procedure with me to reset it. I know it takes a couple of minutes to do so.

How many "snowflakes" are there? From left to right they are as follows, 1st one is 24volt, 2nd is unintended movement relays, 3rd is doors and the 4th is the safety string. unintended movement error is 4305. Depending on which version WDPNA board you have will dictate the reset procedure. There is a reset button, red one on the left on the one marked "DBV" under the LCD screen. I would put everything in "run" and start there. These can be fun.

Thanks guys. I tried putting everything back to run, pressed the reset button to the left of DBV, no luck. Boots back up with the 2138 fault. Looks like it is running on V4.07.03

To clear fatal faults you need to press enter, scroll to 10, enter, set 0 to 1, enter.
Then press reset button or power cycle.

More info on 2138 fault; E_SHAFT_CAR_RELEVELING_ZONE_SIGNAL_INVALID
The signal indicating the car releveling zone is invalid (e.g.
inconsistent). Failure at hoistway information.

C1:A car releveling zone indicator is missing or not at the
correct position
A1:Check correct position of the corresponding indicators
(e.g. alignment of magnets, vanes)

C2:A car releveling zone sensor is defective
A2:Check functionality of corresponding sensor (e.g. PHS,
PHNR_U, PHNR_D). Replace it if necessary.

C3:A car releveling zone sensor signal is faulty
A3:Check general wiring of corresponding sensors (e.g.
PHNR_U, PHNR_D). Check at optical sensors (e.g. PHS,
PHNR_U. PHNR_D) vanes and sensors for dirt and proper
shielding from sunlight (e.g. at glass shaft).

C4:Bad data transmission
A4:Some hoistway information system transfer their data via
data bus. Check data bus (e.g CAN) for correct data
transmission (e.g. bad shielding of data wire).

I had same issue. Turned out to be the board (I forgot name) on top of car that sensors plug into. Sensors metered out good but I/o on cpu wasn’t changing states.

That’s the CANCNA board Jcmowrey, as for the 2138 fault, bad landing unit sensor. Either you broke one off or it took a crap on you. Easy way to check if its good is run your finger through it, you should see the orange LED on the sensor switch on and off.

Hello. Where is the emergency battery located .. and what is the u intended movement reset procedures

Assuming it’s on the car top What is the best way to change the battery.

Nobody wants to talk about emergency lighting lol. I’m scared to use access now.

Usually it's located on top of the car, some installations can be different from others...
Maybe find it yourself?

Was more talking about least path of resistance to access shaft/car top after hearing about issues with the access process. But your right. I really don’t need to ask that. I will just figure it out.

Yes but don't do it on an operational elevator unless you want a trip back to the LDU to do a reset or are right there where you can easily get to the LDU.

Re: Schindler MRL 3300 - 09/08/22 02:40 PM

Sounds like you might have to do a JUMA 127?. If you have a JUMA switch (wihch is on the newer controllers just south of the display on the LDU, its a sliding switch kinda burried on the WDPNA? board right above some wiring connectors ) otherwise you'll have to use the keyed access switch on the cop panel in the stead of a JUMA switch. Ideally once it's been put into unintended movement you'll shift the JUMA switch over , then go into the 10 menu scroll to 127 hit enter change from 0 to 1 by scrolling up or down , then hit enter again. esc out to the 10 menu then scroll to 101 and change from a 0 to a 1 and hit enter and that should reset your uninteded movement. If you dont have a JUMA switch, you can use the access switch with an aj200? maybe aj220? key i think on the older units or epco 2 on the newer ones and use it the same way as I described with the juma switch. Once the 101 is done the elevator doors should close and the car should find itself. The only sticky situation you might have is weather the door clutch is still engaged or not in regards to the doors closing. Pay attention to that before hand in case you might need to move the car up or down. Like alot of others have described here, running the car up or down on access and stopping mid point can cause this issue if the vane reader is in the vane. Sometimes if you have a front and rear and maybe one of the floors is lower or higher than the other during the accessing of the car top or pit if you stop while running it up or down on access and the vane reader is in the path of a vane you can set the uninteded movement. It would be reccomended to make sure when accessing the car up or down, to run it ALL the way up or down unit it stops, before proceding to something else. I hope this helps. technically you can also make your own JUMA switch by looking at the print, although I've never done it but I have heard about other ervice guys doing it.

ohh emergency light battery is located in the ccu also called the cancna, depending on the style of canopy you have (one piece or 3 piece) on the newer 3300 its the giant box sticking uprigh on the car top. open it and on the left hand side you'll find a battery. It will be hooked into the NSG board. This is the battery for the emergency lights. So the nsg board is supplied with 110 on the right hand side (and a fuse) and on the left hand side should have the battery plugged into it and the wire that goes to the actually emergency light on the cop. I've also had NSG boards go bad, and once in a while the emergency light itself.

Re: Schindler MRL 3300 - 09/21/22 01:41 AM

I pressed ok (far right button) on the CANMB board and menu 10 came up, pressed ok again and sub menu 101 came up, pressed ok again and a 0 came up next to the 101, pressed the up button to change the 0 to a 1 and pressed ok. Car reset and leveled down to the bottom floor and went back to normal operation. Thank you all very much for the help. I appreciate it.
