Adjusting MCE IBox Destination Based Dispatching?

Adjusting MCE IBox Destination Based Dispatching? - 01/21/24 05:48 PM

Technically 6 cars in group at a hotel with one car being a 2 door setup that doesn't get most calls because it only opens the rear door for most floors so only the staff use it with its own kiosks on the rear doors.I dunno if that's important information, but I figured I'd be specific. Anyways, I've looked through all the DBD settings and the only options I could find are “minimize opposite direction shared stops” which I checked off and I've tried both "minimize average wait time" and "minimize average journey time". I noticed there are also options to adjust "debit" and "credit" times for car assignment and parking, but not sure if touching those would help me. I've already tried talking to MCE tech support, but they haven't been any help.

Not sure on this specific issue BUT, MCE tech support folks are human too and each person only knows what they know. Years ago I had an issue with a 4 bank of ibox cars randomly having a car go into the overhead overnight. I checked everything I knew, still happened so reached out to mce. Three or four times went through everything with them and no one could figure it out. Then talked to another tech support guy there who says , oh yeah that's a known software glitch with parking cars at a terminal floor I'll send you updated software. Easy as that.

I'd try reaching out a couple more times, trying to talk to different folks each time. Did you download the manual off their website?

Oh, I get it and from what I understand the DBD system is relatively new for Ibox so there are only one or two tech support guys who are well versed with the system. I'm not blaming them, to be fair destination based dispatching isn't exactly ideal for a high volume hotel but it was necessary here because of the floor plan. The GM has been on my ass about trying to fix it so I'm just reaching out everywhere I can to see if there's anything I can do. Also, no, I didn't know I could download the manual. I'll look through that, thanks!
