Garaventa Elvoron-HR 3200 PLC - 03/24/24 11:32 AM

Working on an Elvoron that levels in and refuses to stop at a landing in the down direction only. All appropriate inputs are high, simply won’t stop.

Does anyone know how Garaventa sets the passwords on their PLCs? We have the software to communicate with the PLC and I think it’s the only way to see what’s going on.

Are the outputs for the down slow solenoid going cold? Is the down stop open enough to stop properly?

How many stops? Have you done a learn trip? Is this a new job, or just a new problem? Was it running correctly last week?

Hasn’t run for a few years, but did run before. Did a learn without issues and doesn’t register a fault. The outputs to to de-energize the down coil never go low.

I have seen it happen many times where the encoder is not making contact at all times with the rails. If it ends up being the issue, stiffen up the encoder bracket or else add shims (washers) between bracket and spring. Or else, replace it with the belt and encoder design.
