Inclinator winding drum - 04/16/24 05:55 PM

Hi. I have a residential Inclinator winding drum crashed into the over head on its safeties. No room to pull it up off. We cut a hole in the attic to get a view from the top but can kit locate the safety. I think we have to cut a hole in the car wall to access it. Does any one have a drawing of where exactly it’s located b4 we cut holes ?

I think you can take the lower section of cab wall out and get to them. The safeties and guide rollers are a sled assembly. Can you get a ladder and access from underneath. Think it’s at the bottom of car

Safeties are inside the trolley that rides in the track. If there is nothing left in the overhead to pick the car up, you will probably need to crib up to the platform and support the car and sling an disconnect the trolley from the cab, four allen bolts secure the trolley to the cab. When you crib up for the cab, a bottle jack at half extension in the cribbing will allow you to lower the cab a few inches after you raise the trolley. It sounds like one of the cables might have slipped at the drum and is allowing the safety to set. This uses a broken rope safety and either cable being loose will set safeties.
