Texas may soon update to A17.1 2016 - 06/27/18 02:30 PM
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation - Elevator and Escalators is discussing how to handle the switch to the new code.
Texas is one of only a few if any remaining states using A17.1 2007. The decision will likely be made at the next meeting in Austin on August 1, 2018 and at the last meeting is was suggested that the change-over would take place Summer of 2019 +- a few months.
