Otis Buttons ??

Does anyone know of any alternatives to Unitec Parts to buy newer Otis buttons, or another way to interface with a 311 for a new separate riser? I don't know what Otis calls their buttons but the part # is GDA25005B10. It connects to an RS14 board to communicate with the controller.

Call Unitec and ask for the vandal resitant buttons, they provide a steel ring instead of a plastic one, but instead of illumiating the ring when fired, these buttons fire a light in the center of the button...

Those plastic ring buttons run for years in buildings where buttons are pushed, and not for very long where buttons are hit...

Could that be by design? Can you say "billable callback - vandalism" or am I just cynical?

Its the same plastic used on all different types of buttons. Its one of the best designed buttons out there-really reliable-very easy to change out. The only issue Ive had is if the cleaning crew uses an acidic cleaner on their bronze or stainless. After some time the acidic cleaner tends to eat away at the plastic ring. The non-serial link style button is a pain. Its very hard to wire up as the contact clamps for the wires are in odd spots

You're looking for a Series 3 button. Otis/Unitech makes them either 110 VAC or 24 (30) vdc. The locking ring is pretty slick. You can also interchange them very easily with standard 1 3/8" hole buttons. They sell a trim ring made of SS that fills the gap between the 1 5/16 Series 3 and a standard 1/3/8" hole. Minutes to install. No stud gun. As far as adding a second riser, fairly straight forward. The RS5 or 14 board doesnt care. Although you would use the 24 vdc model button.
