Armor Controller - 07/09/15 05:00 PM

Armor controller with generator, car running slowly - relay 1A doesn't fire because of these relays 2A, 3A, 4A don't fire either. I don't have prints, already checked resistors A, B, C, D for the generator field, once I press the relay 1A - it holds in and pull 2A, 3A, 4A, car runs normally. Meaning coil 1A is good, what ever before is not working correctly not sending voltage to my 1A coil leads.
Does any one have an idea what before 1A relay? or what feeds voltage to my 1A coil?
all suggestions or prior experiences with this situation are welcomed.

have a print that shows that T2S n/o relay contact, or sr1a diode would be the problem. these are the only items in line with 1A coil that would cause your problem seeing that if you pick 1A by hand then all works ok. T2S relay is controlled by the T2S timer

pm me your email, and i will send you the print i have, might not be exact but something to work with good luck

Hi ,thanks for ur response, I was following the wiring on the back of the board , from relay 1A coil terminals A&B , A - 3wires (1 coming from bottom of resistense R1A1 , reading to ground 170 vdc)(2 coming from rectifier SR1A)(3 coming from 2nd top contact on 2A relay) 1A COIL TERMINAL B 2 wires (1coming from capacitor C1A1 reading to ground 169,5vdc ) ( 2 coming from top resistense R1A3 ) now reading coil terminal A to ground 170 vdc , coil terminal B 169, 5 vdc , but reading A to B gives me 0 vdc and 1A coil doesn't energize , if I press it manually it hold it in and pull relay 2A , car runs high speed but it doesn't do it automatically , and mechanically relay 1A is ok , there isn't much tension on the relay sprin

By the way 1A coil is good , triple checked!

Re: Armor Controller - 07/19/15 03:24 AM

are you sure ground is the common? . 170 VDC is a strange reading for a controller power supply, My print shows 112 as the common, and most likely the coil voltages are 240 vdc. that is why I'm concerned about why you are using ground as your common, or reference point for your meter readings.
at any rate, i have a print that has all the components you listed in your last post.
pm me you email, or post it here and i will send it to you. it may not be exact, but sounds like the acceleration relay circuit 1a-4a is similar.

This is a complex - new account and I'm hitting a few different problems , here is another one , four vv armor controllers 1,2,3,4 ,- 1 is on inspection we are replacing door tracks and operator, 2 and 3 they are working good so far , car 4 is working normal so far but when the elevator answer a h call - the car land on the floor, car door open normally, and if u press the hall push button once again with the elev door open on the floor , the call stay in and it doesn't allow the car door to close until another elev 2,or 3 comes to cancel the call just then car 4 door closes and goes , I really don't know if previous mechanics were messing around this controller and create this problem or is coming from the diapatcher , if u had any experience with this kind of problem - I'll appreciate any ideas , thanks or send me an email

Another words elev 4 cancel the call but if some press the hall push button once again with the door fully open doesn't allow the car door to close until comes another elev to cancel the second call

those are tough prints to read, especially the common panel. you are going to have a tough time without job prints, the ones i sent you are generic, but look in the hall call cancelation circuit to see if you can determine what relays from that specific car cancel hall calls.

Any experiences u had with this dispatchers , the problem also is that I can't turned off to b able to work in the controller , but the problem is there and is giving me a hart time ! , any ideas are welcome

that was a problem, working on relay dispatchers is tricky business, i have not worked on them in 20 years, and my memory is fading, one thing you could do is check every relay coil in the dispatcher to see any of them have voltage across the coil and are not picking up. job prints are a necessity here good luck

Hey ! Another problem !! ARMOR CONTROLLER old style - Westinghouse relays and finger contacts relays at the bottom , also a generator , the elevator is running, up direction all normal , down direction the car is traveling and the landing sist sensor read the slow down vane -it stops! Doesn't slow down , stay there for 15 seconds and then keep on going to the next call and the same problem , as I said there isn't problems in the up direction, a relay problem but which one, no prints on site ! If anyone has an idea or an experience with this kind of controller is welcome, brushes are ok , this happens just on the down direction , limits switches already cleaned and read them they are good, thanks

Looking for a print for armor ad1 hydro controller. Car calls work but when the car gets to the floor door does not shut until another car is made. When hall call is made the door won’t close to answer the call. If the door is shut it will answer hall calls. Some help please. Initial shutdown was car door would not open. Changed dol coil and door started opening again and then this problem started
