thats a old torque brake, can't remember the model. we just modded a unit with one last year and swapped out the machine

The model # 1-C AC is shown on the tag. It looks like this brake could mechanically bind if not regularly serviced. I wonder if there have been any cases of this brake design sticking open....

Looks a lot like the brake on a 1942 Abell install. Had a motor mounted to the side. Controls were all Thompson, and my assumption is that the machine was an old HW
