Have a newer Otis 211 5 stop with 1 short floor. Unit is set to park at the lobby floor. At least once a day, it shuts down. There is no shutdown code shown, display shows OK at shutdown code menu. Display scrolls run 187, 365. 3NAV. I know the numbers are just counters and NAV is not available. When I reset, I see the floor number scroll and several upside down exclamation points follow. Then it will take right off again. Without a shutdown code, I'm flying blind. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I set the elev. to park at the lobby floor 3 yesterday.. Got there this morning, and unit was not responding, sitting at parking floor NAV 3. Yesterday, Went through the hoistway and verified magnet positions, all ok with the gauge.m Do not have a service tool, but have the manuals. Have looked through all of the occs and mccs parameters, shut off low oil, pressure switch and it had a car call set for card reader, which I turned off, no card readers on this unit.....anybody think, that I have a flaky board or software corruption? I have not had any board or software problems with the 211 in the past, I think they are the most reliable units out there.....

You would get a fault. Say it was parking at the top level, and it would relevel thus hitting the limit would give you a fault.Door timing out would give you a fault and warming up the oil and drifting up would give you a fault. Is it set to stay or park at the top level? If so,that's your problem .
And you know how to get to the faults on the display on the board without a tool, right?

The elevator was shutting down on various floors before I set it to park at the lobby. Yes, I know how to access the shutdown codes without the tool, are their faults that can be accessed without the tool as well? The unit is set to park at the lobby which is approx. midway in the hoistway. Any idea why I get NAV without a hard fault? If I press S1 the unit will reset, without going through the entire reset procedure, also cycling power resets the unit.
