My selector communication light keeps going out. already replaced the selector boards. if power is off for a few minutes is the only way to get it back up. do you think my clc board is bad? power supply is @ 5v.

sounds like you are getting a selector fault do you have a tool, if so when the light is out check for selector fault. Over the years, we have had to fix dmc cars with no tool, one thing i always tell the young guys, if a dmc is down, and you have no tool, and no idea what is going on, check the led on the selector board, if at all possible, if it is out, it is more then likely a selector fault. bad tape guides, bad switch tree contacts, or wiring are the likely suspects.

@ Scott Davidson yes I am using the freedom tool. The fault we were getting is a Door Zone Read True when not expected. Like I mentioned this is new selector board as well.

Sounds like stuck contacts on your door zone magnetic reed switch. Its the 2 wire plug on the main selector board. Remove the board and you'll see the switch.

yes that switch is a pain, it will stick intermittently. when you check with a meter, everything is fine. i have had many cars go occupied over the years due to this little switch, replace it and you will be fine.
