I was able to "wake" the cpu up putting the car in zmodem mode by
Holding rst and udl at the same time then Letting go of rst then udl and the stat light will blink the morse code equivelent of z. using hyper terminal you set the baude rate to 38400, parity none , 8 bit , 1 stop bit .my problem was using usb to serial connection instead of straight serial to serial . So maybe this will help someone in the future cause it took a lot of calls to get this info since I found nothing in any tac 20 manual about this precedure

I forgot this gets the board able to communicate with hyper terminal then you have to send the dat file and the five other job parameter files

Wondering if what you're seeing is the equivalant of a "System Check" on a tac 50?

ZModem is a file transfer protocol. The great thing about it was if you got disconnected from the other party while uploading or downloading a file, you could reconnect with the other party, and it would re-start the transfer where it was terminated. Rather than starting the transfer at the beginning, like you had to do with X modem. For those of us old enough to rememeber the Compuserve, Bulletin Board days, ZMODEM was a blessing. Especially at the blazing speed of 2400 BPS.

When you get connected in hyperterm are you in the "FAST TOOL" mode where commands like "SCC", "FLT" etc. After you upload the "DAT" files does the screen paint to an I/O screen?

Just wondering.
Thanks.

It Don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing.
