ThyssenKrupp has closed CEC. Now if you call CEC for any help or a product ID you have to go thru ITS. Once you call Dallas they redirect you to the factory in Tenn. I spent half a morning trying to get a Product ID to install some new computers on a buildings remon g2 system. Dealing with CEC in the past was very easy, Celeste Garcia would give you a product ID in matter on minutes. Ordering parts was and getting the right part was really easy. After talking to a ex CEC field engineer that now handles Swift for TK said this transition process isn't going as smooth as TK first thought it would. So good luck to anyone trying to get any help. If you aren't a TK employee I see it being even more difficult getting to the right person to talk to. Sung Young at ITS handles the product IDs, so that is the person you'll have to get ahold of. If you have any REMON G2 systems on your route I would go ahead and try to get a product ID and keep it put up for safe keeping. Just giving a little heads up.

I swore they said Sung Young. He isn't in Dallas he is at the factory. He is the only one who supports any CEC computers. IT tools cannot help you. I started calling at 8 central and he called back around 2 in the afternoon.

I could write my own manual for swift5000.
I was a resident mechanic at a federal building for 15 years and I have written 16bit software to service swift5000s. I have helped fix a lot of problems over the phone.
Remon G2's main flaw is that it is a database that is writing to the hard drive very frquently. Most of the failures are the result of the finite lifespan of the harddrives.
I recomend cloning the harddrive so that the os loaded with the software can be recovered.
The only thing lost would be the data that was compiled prior to the harddrive failure. Here is a sample of helps developed over the past few years jferro@aceweb.com

I would on all the Futura stuff for any of you guys that have quite a bit recommend finding any relevant copies of the current flash and parameter files and making decent backups. Don't rely on the floppy disc buried in carbon dust laying at the bottom of the controller.
It seemed in the last few years that CEC was having problems supplying decent SPU cards,, and they are different depending on how old your job is. This last version I had with the integrated touch screen, Both the SPU and SPU link were different.

For all the guys with 5000s copy all your eproms ASAP.

For anybody working on swift5000s take a look at this video. I data log my cars while running normal and can read the logfile offline.
