Just wondering how all of you are testing ascending car overspeed on acceptance and full load testing. Is everyone overspeeding at 110% governor speed? I have an MCE IControl with a Haughton 2:1 gearless and a HW rope gripper and we can't get the car moving fast enough with out the machine brake setting for the gripper to slow the car.

When you de the ascending car test, assuming the car is completely secured, you'll need to manually hold open the brake and let the gripper stop the car on its own.

yes basically the gov. switch should trip, and set the rope gripper or e-brake, which ever you have.

We used the brake lifter to do this.
