I had a Dover composite control yesterday that would not answer calls in the up direction unless it was a one floor run.I cleaned the optical sensors on the selector and it fixed it.I am assuming it was one of the 2LR sensors.Anyone agree?Thx

Check/change your selector guides.

2LR switches are low leveling switches. They have nothing to do with stopping from high speed. You are not getting CS to tell the car to stop. Will it answer car calls in the up direction?? Or will it just not answer Hall calls in the up direction?? CS relay picks up from a UC (I think) or CC (I think) UC for up hall calls, CC for car calls in both directions. 2LR only comes into play after you have dropped 3F, 2F, 1F, and ISL in the slowdown pattern. Do you have prints for the job?

I apologize, I should have been more informative. The car would not bypass the car/hall calls, it would answer the calls but stall in leveling. It would stall only in the up direction, down was fine.

Check the cores in the Struther-Dunn relays(10 and 11 I thik) on the back side of the controller. These control the Low speed compounding and High speed compounding. If these contacts don't make and break correctly, it will cause stalling at low speed. Also, CAREFULLY clean your generator commutator. Don't mess with the glaze. Glaze should be a chocolate color. Check brush tension and replace springs if necessary.

If it hasn't been done before, the selector guides can be turned over. Also I had another request for the CS lock-up band aid. Senders address got away from me so please try again or check attached.
