have a 4 car group, building did some kind of generator/ electrical work this weekend. only 1 car is running now, the other 3 cars say no KPWR switch. INIT
so after a little investigating and poking around, i came across the ACTIVATE feature, I Activated KPWR, and kpwr came on and i could give it calls and it would run, so i did this on the other 2 cars as well, and same thing they all run,. so i started looking into the inputs from status panel, in the car that was running normally, i can see the status panel board inputs, but the other cars, when i go to view the io, it says board not active. so any way, i was running out of time, and I'm no expert, so i decide to wrap it up, and try again later. i again went to ACTIVATE feature, and deactivated the KPWR override, but now the PWR relay stays on, and i can give them calls etc. now under operation, it says BLOCK OPERATION under the 3 bad cars, and the good car says normal. seems like some kind of communication problem now between cars. any ideas? going to do some reading tonight to try and get some insight

if i remember right there was a software glitch when you lost power and the battery on the board was dead. When the RAM is dumped due to a bad battery backup the hospital emergency input/KPWR would not reset. you had to use the tool and force it on like you did. you must also tell it the halfway count for EQ operation(atleast here in cali) when the battery dies. hope my memory helps, the miconic a job i had was modded a few years back.

strange, i left the the 3 cars on inspection in the controller when i left the job, as they were on block operation as i indicated earlier. today i come to check into it further, i turn them off of controller inspection, and they all come back to life, and say Normal. everything is working fine now. elevator God was looking out for me, i only had a couple hours to look into this before the end of the day, so it was a nice surprise, after a long couple of weeks.
GreenPants, I started looking at the previous companies trouble logs, and sure enough, there are multiple entries of power loss, and mechanic having to override the kpower switch with the HHT before the cars would go back into service. Lucky this is a vacant building, however they are remodeling the building, everything except the elevators, and with 8 floors, can't wait to see what happens when the building is full, especially after a power outage. ha ha tenants will not be happy
