What type of elevator is this? (traction, hydraulic, roped hydraulic, etc.) What is the speed of the car? What kind of car? (passenger, freight, dumbwaiter, etc>) What is the jerk rate allowed? What type of rail guides does it have? What kind of cab steadiers does it have? What is the distance between brackets? What kind of machine is driving the elevator?

With the above answers, we can say with a certain amount of accuracy what the tolerance should be!
