Hello, this is the first time i have asked a question in this forum. I took over maintaining a duplex of resolve 20 kone controllers with the bar reader. One of the units comes into the floor kind of strange. On these controllers I beleive the relevel signals (61u 61n) are generated in the drv board from channels A,B from the bar reader. On car2 the 61u 61n signals come in backwards to the way they do on car 1. If car 2 doesn't stop level and has to relevel the controller starts and stops the relevel process because the signals seem contrary to the direction it is trying to relevel to. It will start/stop four or five times then take itself out of service and wait for another call in the system to answer. I think a new setup drive is required but to do that you have to start the car slightly below the bottom landing with the 61n signal off but these ones are backwards. Not sure if it will start the set up drive. To do a new setup drive you have to clear the old one. I may end up with a car that won't run. Any thoughts?

16.1.3 Setup drive (5 _2 _ 1)
Step Action Note
1 Ensure that the elevator is in RDF.
2 Position the car with RDF so that LEDs 61U, 30 or B30 (or both), 77N and 77S are
lit.
3 Reset the earlier floor settings:
1. Select Menu 6 with MENU
button.
• Press ACCEPT to
confirm selection.
2. Select submenu 6_16 with arrow
buttons.
3. Set value of parameter 6_16 to 4
with arrow buttons.
• Press ACCEPT once to
confirm selection.
4. Recycle power.
On display:
6 _ 0 _ n, where n is the ID of the
parameter sheet.
6 _1 _ _
6_16 _ 0
6_ 16 _ 4, where all numbers are steady.
4 Activate shaft setup menu:
1. Select menu 5.
2. Select submenu 2.
3. Set the value to 1.
On the display:
5 _ _ _ _
5 _2 _ _
5 _2 _ 1
5 Start the setup drive:
• Turn RDF (270) OFF (to normal).
Car starts to drive in up direction.
6 Follow the run in the LCE User Interface.
If the elevator does not start to drive:
1. Safety input LED is lit in the LCE User Interface. If not, check that if:
• the car is at limit switch
• safety chain is broken.
2. Check that value of the elevator mode parameter 4_1 is 0.
– If the value is something else than 0:
• Check all the key switch settings (FRD, PRC/L, OSS, e.g.),
• Settings on LCEOPT board
• Commands from group control (should be disconnected).
3. Check that the car light supervision parameter 1_77 is 0.
4. Check the doors
• No doors open
• No photocells active
• No door open buttons active
5. Reset faults and do the floor learning run.

1 Run the elevator to the bottom floor. Give call from LCECPU user interface.
2 Turn the elevator to RDF drive from switch 270.
3 Use the RDF drive for positioning
elevator so that:
• Switch 61U is ON.
• Switch 30 or B30 is ON (or both)
• Synchronisation switch 77N is ON
• Synchronisation switch 77S is ON
Same position as with set-up.
4 Give start command from LCECPU User Interface menu.
• 5_5_0 -> 1
5 Turn the elevator to the normal drive from switch 270.
Deceleration distance learning mode starts.
• The elevator starts to run up and down using full speed and service speeds
performing several steps to the top floor. After few seconds the elevator
drives back to the bottom floor.
NOTE! Prerequisite for deceleration distance learning is that successful set-up has been
completed.
• Turning elevator to inspection drive immediately terminates learning mode.
• Any fault immediately terminates learning mode.
• During learning mode sequence elevator most likely stops outside door zone.
• The elevator does not even try to stop at door zone.
• LCECPU position indication shows current elevator position.
• LCECPU User Interface buttons are disabled.
• If learning mode terminated before successful completion it has to be restarted from step
1.
NOTE! IF V3F10 FULL or SERVICE SPEED IS PERMANENTLY CHANGED AFTER
DECELERATION DISTANCE LEARNING THEN DECELERATION DISTANCE
LEARNING HAS TO BE PERFORMED AGAIN.
Temporary change of service speed does not necessitate new learning drive provided that
service speed is set back to original value (=value that was effective during the learning
mode).

Thanks for the response. The problem that I'm having though is when I drive the car to the bottom floor to do a setup drive and drive just below the floor, the 61n should go out and 30 and 61u should stay high but this is not the case. It's backwards. Go below the floor and 61n stays high and 61u goes low. I'm not sure if the setup will start with the 61u and 61n in opposite states. If I do 6.16 .4 it will erase the shaft image but I'm not sure if the relevel signals will go back to the proper order. 61u, 61n are not actual inductor signals I beleive they are created off the pulse count during setup when it sees the flags and records their position. Every other resolve I've worked on if you drive the car up off the flag 61u will go low. Drive down and 61n will go low but not this car it's backwards.

Forget about 61N going dark, when bar reader is used you start set up drive with lift level at bottom floor.
Remember to clear system before doing a new set up drive.
