As a maintenance mechanic this one gets to me. I have always checked inside the elevators before I leave the building.

Another reason A17.1 states 24 hr 2 way communication. Another death easily avoided. Besides that here in the good old USA, we don't shut the whole country down for a month while we all go on vacation.
