Lookin for some input or paperwork for a erl Westinghouse 74 vintage. Elevator runs too fast. Trying to figure what makes the voltage stops increasing once it gets to speed

Is the car running away? Have you adjusted HS on the regulator?

try checking the Zener Diode.

Not sure if this helps. On the older versions of the ERL controllers low insulation resistances to ground on the main loop circuits could cause overspeeding in one direction and not being able to properly compound

check the 6 relays in the motor field circuit. low motor field voltage will cause car to overspeed

Tried adjusting hs pot and nothing, I'm gettin over speed in both directions, but what's weird is it randomly worked absolutely perfect for like two hours and right before I was going to turn it loose it permanently crapped out. We've had this on contract for five years and it never ran that good, don't know if that throws any other signs up. Thanks guy

If the HS pot does not change anything you could have a Motor Field problem or a bad SCR or circuit Board Controlling Generator Field. Have you checked Standing, running, & forcing voltages? If you have more then one car, check and compare the Ohms in Motor Fields. Have you checked with a Tachometer how fast it is really going? Make sure you have no grounds in Loop Circuit.

Sounds like it might be shored look circuit to me look for shorted brush rigging's be be 10 meg of higher to ground.

Hey Rolly, what do you mean by forcing voltages? Which area?

He's talking about the motor field voltage/current. Forcing is full field.

Does the car run fine (speeds are the same in both directions) on hand?

Ah ok I understand now. I only ask as I haven't come across anyone in our parts who call it this, but just call it the pattern circuit s curve and loop circuit build up.
