If the HS pot does not change anything you could have a Motor Field problem or a bad SCR or circuit Board Controlling Generator Field. Have you checked Standing, running, & forcing voltages? If you have more then one car, check and compare the Ohms in Motor Fields. Have you checked with a Tachometer how fast it is really going? Make sure you have no grounds in Loop Circuit. Hey Rolly, what do you mean by forcing voltages? Which area?

He's talking about the motor field voltage/current. Forcing is full field. Ah ok I understand now. I only ask as I haven't come across anyone in our parts who call it this, but just call it the pattern circuit s curve and loop circuit build up.
