They usually call back at like 4:30. I learned from another member here that if you really need them, just wait on hold. I've never waited for more than an hour but be aware that their call system makes no sense nce, the longer you wait the longer it says it will be. Just ignore it.

Would it be nice if you called motion and they answered and sent you right to a tech like they used to, 20 years ago, yes, yes it would. The reality is that no longer happens. Like IDWT mentions, if you leave a call back number, you probably won't get a call any time soon, most likely at the end of the day or next morning. You have to be patient, just be prepared to wait them out, if they have not answered after an hour, then more then likely they are overwhelmed with calls. One thing I have noticed, after many years of trouble shooting, is that many mechanics that call motion can be fairly rude with the tech once they are connected. I constantly remind them that they are asking them for help, you have to be cordial, if not overly cordial. To many times the interaction starts with "why did i have to wait so long, This is why we don't use motion control on any new contracts , or some other complaint that only serves to aggravate the tech on the other end. If you treat them with respect, you will be better served. another tip, while you are waiting on hold, try to gather as much info as you can regarding your problem. maybe write yourself a few notes, as to what you see, and be prepared to have a notepad ready when they do help so you can write down some of the info they give you. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, you will get a rude tech, maybe he had a bad day, just something to think about

On the bright side, more often than not you figure it out for yourself by the time they answer. I just wish they didn't insist on you talking to them and getting a notification number to order anything major.

Try increasing the speed pick delay parameter. Default is usually set to 0.500s, start with 0.750s and see if the rollback gets better.

Have you verified that your drive parameters match your motor nameplate data? For hoist motor RPM use the FL RPM not the rated RPM (for example rated RPM 1200, FL RPM 1173, use 1173 in the drive). Perform an auto-tune of the motor with the drive if you haven't already, and perform a brake calibration if you haven't already. Then check for any rollback, mess with speed pick delay if you still have any.

Sounds to me like it's a pmac so the motor rpm isn't critical only at start up. You have to go through your load weighing adjustment procedure, small adjustments have large effects. Also did you do your balance adjustment at the beginning of the Laos weighed adjustment? This is all after you have Calibrated the unit itself and learned the floor weights. Shoot me a email thomas@elevator411.com
