Did you ever wonder why Westinghouse use numbers instead of letters? The story goes that all the W engineers hid outside
of the Haughton plant and when H engineers couldn't make some of there controller components work they threw them in the dumpster, not knowing the W guys were jumping into the dumpster to use parts on their design. W had simple plan.
"what's the first thing we need too do?" "we need to go up." one of them shouted. hence relay one. "what's next". (big pause) "we need to go down." hence relay two. etc. etc. When they got all done it wouldn't run. "The H guys didn't supply us with enough contacts to go down, now what?" (more dumpster diving Hence relay 2A,2B,2BC and so on). Schindler, whose engineers couldn't read either said "this is the perfect company to buy. we wont have to teach anybody. Hence the 3300 the CHEVY VEGA of the industry.

Why are Westinghouse guys the best troubleshooters? because they had to be.

Don't believe me. think about this. I'll bet you never met a Westinghouse guy who didn't know what every one of those freakin numbers did!!! I sure haven't
