Im trying to relearn a 99 Dover DMC hoistway. Everytime I start to run up off the lower final limit my red led on the selector goes from solid to off and i get a code 56 fault(DTS not Activated when Expected). Unit stops about two inches past bottom landing when ran off inspection. Thanks for any input.

Typically that means there is a mismatch with the position of the directional limit switch compared to the magnets on the selector. When you are setup for the learn run are you approximately 1" blow the bottom floor? You may want to check and see what the limit switch position is.

I would say closer 1.5-2 inches past floor level when the elevator hits the down limit.

Is DTS high? It’s going to do that every time if DTS is low (negative logic.). Broken DTS switch, missing the cam, missing a wheel, etc. If that all looks right, pull CS6 on the selector, pin 13 to 17 should be open. If DTS is still low with CS6 unplugged, replace the selector micro card.

I was finally able to get a hoistway learn done. Thanks for the help. One thing i noticed now when going from the 4th floor(top floor) down to the bottom floor the elevator will slow down at the 3rd floor and stop, then instantly continue to the bottom floor. It will do the same when going from the bottom to the top floor slowing down and stopping at the second then instantly continue to the top floor. When the elevator stops at the floor the doors do not try to open. Any ideas?

Are you getting any faults? Does it work normally otherwise or do the door never open?

The only faults i am seeing is door open during high speed. But the clutch never comes in contact with the pick up rollers during travel or when the car slows down at the floor.

A 32 fault? Does it get that fault every time it does this?
