First off thank you all for your service, I too am a Veteran and I just came across some information that is a gold mine! I want to share with you something that is not well advertised but that can really help you out during your apprenticeship if you choose to use it. I had a chance encounter with an individual that informed me that you can use your G.I. Bill during your apprenticeship. I was a little skeptical so I did some researching. He was right! You can receive BAH rates during your apprenticeship if you choose to do so. This is assuming you do not plan on going to college. I myself plan on being an Elevator Mechanic for the long haul. This is a game changer for me and my family and I hope it will be for yours as well. I will post the links below. Good luck to you all

This link will take you to the site that you can search for qualifying schools for the GI Bill. Just change program type to OJT/ Apprenticeship, search "elevator" and click on your state. Your specific program for your location should be there.

This link shows you the breakdown of how you get paid during your apprenticeship.

This is the VA site that will allow you to apply for benefits.

Again, good luck to you all and I hope this helps you all as much as it did me.
