In my building I have an old Sedgwick lectro lift elevator. It was working great up until a few days ago when I got in the elevator and shut the door and saw a spark from the door sensor. I closed the gate and pushed the 1st floor button and it wouldn’t move. I’ve checked for any breakers but haven’t found any other than the main ones in the attic. If I push the up or down from the control up there it moves but won’t call from another floor or work inside elevator. I have no idea what I’m looking for so any help would be greatly appreciated. I know it is dangerous to work on these things but a short or something shouldn’t be too hard to fix but I don’t know the values at any of the points and I have no idea who to even call. The company that installed it is no longer in business.
Can’t figure out how to attach photos to this so any info as to that would be helpful as well.

I would advise you to do an internet search for "elevator service companies near me" and give one of them a call to schedule a service callout. In todays world if anyone gets hurt riding on your buildings elevator and can prove that non-elevator personnel have been maintaining the equipment you might find yourself caught up in a lawsuit. I would also advise you to have a licensed elevator contractor complete your category 1 and category 5 safety tests. Hope this helps.
