Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the 6300PA door boards? Specifically, the connections for discrete door open, close, nudge, and common? I think it's the only push on connector, 4 pin, as all the other connectors are in the manual.
$300 for the UIT, $1000 for the expansion board, $1500 for the door board. Too much $$. I'm trying to keep the HD98 door operator mechanical parts and run the door board discrete when doing a mod on a DMC. They are a good operator, hate to swap with a GAL.... I thought those TKE door boards had a direct discrete input option.
I didn’t say it was a good idea… Other options would be a 6300ABN3 the update to the old Smartech used on TAC-50. Than would require a separate box. You could use a Smartech II, that’s a box with a PA door board and a different expansion board. You could probably add that board to the PA board yourself like an HD-LM, the one with the little door box on top with the expansion board. That one is 6300AAR1 and includes the UIT. That would be a better setup I think but don’t know what it costs. Or you could use something like an MCE SmartTRAQ. I’ve seen those used on an HD-98 operator.
Ya, a PA board is all that’s inside an HD-LM or a Smartech II. PA6 for 1/6hp DC motor and PA7 for 1/2hp AC. But those are just what’s typical. Either board will run an AC or DC motor, the PA7 is just a bit beefier. The only thing I’m not sure on is I’ve only seen those on TK equipment. The PA board and AAR1 are on the CAN channel. I’m almost positive they will communicate with each other independent of the controller, Just never seen it. I think I have the parts on my van though, I’ll see if I can test it out over the weekend.
I can confirm that the AAR1 board communicates with the PA door boards over CAN with or without a controller. I have a door simulator with a PA6 board that I can connect to a TAC20 sim or 32 bit sim. Without a controller, I powered the AAR1 card with 24vdc and connected it to the PA6 board with a 3 pin CAN cable. Without changing any parameters I could give the AAR1 discrete open & close inputs and the sim worked great. There are jumpers to select between 24-48vdc and 120vac inputs and it has relay outputs for limits. The actual limits can be on the card edge or external, wired to the connector on the PA board like a linear door with ELI set to 1.
