If it has telescopic jacks, can you see the upper or middle plunger slowly collapsing into the lower plunger while the elevator should be at rest?

If all else fails, read the instructions

2nd that, their videos are excellent. With an I2, my money would be on the lowering or check valve seats. These valves are super easy to pull apart and inspect but not much you can do if the seat is damaged. Then even if there isn’t anything visible, something may not be machined true. In some really old I2 manuals they talk about lapping these seats by hand on site but I’ve never gone that far. We typically just replace the valve if one of the piston seats are suspected.

Just had one that had a leaky muffler in the tank. After muffler replacement, all is well. cap off between the muffler and the valve. If it still leaks, it''s the muffler. Assuming you have done shutdown test.

The up leveling strainer, if not seated properly, will cause this.

how do you know the seals are good? is it teloscopic jacks? or single stage?

also do this

power off with car level at floor
wait 10min and see how far the car drifts down (record this measurment)
Restore power level up car
repeate but this time hit the shut off valve in the motor room
wait 10 min

this will tell you if its leaking through the valve or the piston

Hes right, but be mindful also of oil contraction/expansion from temperature. if the cars been running alot and the oil is nice and hot the contraction as it cools will make it look like it's leaking down, even if it's not actually leaking.
