Hey guys and girls. Got a Tac 20 hydro 4 (b-3). stop. Car is in pit .. indicator says B. Siemens drive not lit up. No 110v to top f pin connector . Main line power good. Have 480v between each leg. Top of drive and bottom. IMS records no faults after a power reset . mut relay is energized . Car monitor says safeties .. The last faults recorded were 1058-1 (selector position wrong at limit of travel) .. 1043-1 (low oil shutdown ) .....1033-1 (selector position error ) ..1055-2 (Selector car position mismatch ) 1057-1 (encoder out of tolerance) .. 1017 (software error - change in run type during run . Car is not performing an emergency stop and the software has changed the type of run (leveling , stopped after a run , controlled full speed run , etc.. 1040 (door watch dog closing failure ) .. would the drive going bad cause these faults ? Shoukd I bring 120v to pin connector 1 on drive to see if it starts up and pulls in contactor ?

Those position faults are likely from a power cycle. Common with the BP inputs over LON. TAC20s will drop MCC1 to turn off the starter with certain faults and if MUTS is picked with the starter off, the up to speed contact is probably shorted. You could probably break the C65 surface mount capacitor on the Logic Board. The fact that is says Safeties is interesting though, a TAC20 should only say that if you really don’t have safe.

I'm with Indirt. C65 capacitor is shorted. Take the wire off of 5 or 6 on the Siemens starter then power up. If you get the right capacitor there is a C65B place to solder a new one on. Or is it C56? I can't remember.

I found on the newer logic boards they stopped putting the cap on the boards so now I just pull them off.
